Stainless Steel was first developed in 1800AC for the use of cutlery applications. Although “Stainless” was adopted as a generic name for most iron alloy mixed with chromium steel, it covers a wide range of steel types and grades for corrosion or oxidation resistant applications.

Stainless Steel are made with minimum 10.5% chromium mixed with iron alloy, other alloy elements are added to enhance their structure and properties such as formability, strength and cryogenic toughness.

The crystal structure of Stainless Steel makes it non magnetic and less brittle at low temperatures. Carbon is added for higher hardness and strength. Stainless steel when hardened with adequate heat treatments it is used for razor blades, knives, swords, tools & cutlery.
